授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
In this class, we will develop one of your most important English communication skills: speaking. This course will focus on the vocabulary and speaking style you need in order to use English in academic settings. Therefore, initially it will be necessary to introduce academic topics. Then based on these topics and vocabulary students will be tasked to do assignments, create presentations, and engage in dialogue. Students need to clearly understand that this is not a "free speaking" class. このクラスでは、英語コミュニケーションスキルの中でも最も重要なスキルの一つである「スピーキング」を磨きます。このコースでは、アカデミックな場で英語を使うために必要な語彙と話し方に焦点を当てます。そのため、まずはアカデミックなトピックを紹介する必要があります。その後、これらのトピックと語彙に基づいて、課題の実施、プレゼンテーションの作成、そして対話への参加へと進めていきます。このクラスは「フリースピーキング」クラスではないことを、受講生はしっかりと理解しておく必要があります。 |

Class methods will include various group work and pair work activities. These may include any of the following: • Conversations on textbook topics • Individual and/or small group presentations • Creating dialogues using key expressions, vocabulary, and speaking strategies mined from their textbooks |

Students will be expected to review the various listening, speaking, and study skills presented in each lesson. (30 minutes) Students will also study the vocabulary words and strategies presented in each lesson and read all course-related handouts from the instructor. (30 minutes) Students will also prepare presentations with other students. (4 to 6 hours per term) | ||||||||||
